Hurricane Irene

New York City. Hurricane Irene caused a bit of a stir in the New York City area. From the map and the trajectory of the storm, NYC and Long Island were in the direct path and due to take a big hit. I recall Hurricane Gloria back in the mid 1980’s. That was also a big scare but no lasting damage. This time around, the storm came in after midnight. The rain was heavy till about 2AM. When I went to bed it was very quiet. In the morning there was drizzle. The storm had fizzled over land. Don’t get me wrong, it was certainly bad elsewhere. We were extremely fortunate in NYC.
